Scanlink DJI M4E speed

Dan Cowan

Just an FYI - I recently reached out to support about the M4E's speed tower scanning as compared to the M3E. The M4E is considerably slower and when scanning telecom the drone is exposed longer to 5G antenna signals which create RTK reception issues. It was fantastic to receive an actual response from a real person very quickly and they were committed to looking in to the issue. A day later I was notified a minor release was available to address the speed issue. So if you have an M4E and perform tower scans, check it out and see if you can notice a difference.

That is very interesting because I know people that spend a lot of time on towers and they have almost universally stopped using the 4E because of interference that the 3E doesn't seem to suffer from.

Have you tested it and, if so, did you notice a difference?

The release was posted yesterday and I haven't had a chance to test. We ran some test this week before the patch and had to M4E's running the same scans on the same towers. One of them only had one RTK interruption and the other had many. The M3E ran the scans noticeably quicker. Interested to see if this improves the challenges with the RTK interference.

Is this a software patch from DJI or from Dronelink? I’m assuming Dronelink

I can test it in the next few days
