Can Dronelink be used to record?
Maybe this question should be under a different Topic heading like Feature Requests if the answer turns out to be no, so feel free to move this thread accordingly.
The idea arises with the imagined scenario of doing aerial recon prior to an actual mission. For example, currently Dronelink allows a good deal of pre-flight planning afforded through available spatial tools like Google Maps, Google Earth, GIS mapping softwares; however, the temporality of things presented on the ground aren't always the same as presented in that set of spatial tools. Trees grow, or get cut down; buildings get built, or razed, etc.
One way of implementing the Dronelink Recorder feature would be to start with a predefined flight path built with the usual sets of Components, POIs, Waypoints, Markers, Map Bounds, etc., and with the flight plan displayed in the field, tap and hold on the Approach, Boundary Point, etc. and select Update. The pilot would then be instructed to fly to the new location to be used before tapping OK. Both altitude and horizontal position would then be recorded, their old to new deltas displayed; e.g., ΔX, ΔY, ΔZ in default units, and the new values used for the revised flight plan. Each update would include some obligatory notice such as "Updated positions are no better than the GNSS capabilities of your sUAV, proceed with with caution!"
Another imagined scenario would be to start from scratch in the field, set new positions for key components using the Dronelink Recorder feature to design the flight path ad hoc, and then go fly. Again some notice is warranted like "New positions set in the field are no better than the GNSS capabilities of your sUAV, proceed with with caution!"

If setting up on site (to be sure things are accurate) is what you are looking for, then this probably gives you what you need.

Once you have the locations, directions, etc. all set up you can then edit that mission to add any additional details needed.
Hopefully, I didn't get the wrong end of the stick there.
Thanks Barry! I tried liking it after watching, but am unsure if either attempts actually were properly logged. As soon as I can get a chance I'll play around with this. Thanks again! - Kelly
