Modifying a plan during a mission

Julian Perry
Things are going well with the DH app and I marvel at how things have progressed in the last 5 years in this regard. After a recent mission I came to wonder what would happen if I could see that the drone was about to hit a tree or bush. Yes I can pause the mission but will the app let me fast forward a little, using the dot on the timeline, so I can resume at a point past past where the obstacle would have been hit? Alternatively can I pause the mission, go back to the web app and make a small change to the plan, so that the current mission would be updated and so that resuming at a higher altitude, for example, would make things go smoothly? Some of my surveys involve getting quite close to to tops of trees etc. Thanks

    • If you pause the mission it will resume from where it left off, including going back to that point if you move it.
    • There is an exception to the above - if you have two components (let's say two paths)  and the collision point is between the end of one and the start of the other, you can move it around the obstacle and when you resume it will go directly to the start of the second component.
    • If you make a change to the plan you would have to abort the current mission and reload the new one.

    Hope that helps.

Yes that all sounds logical. But if I aborted a mission and made a small change a reloaded it, can I fast forward so to speak to roughly where I left off. I haven’t tried it but I wondered if one can slide the timeline marker along during a mission rather like you can in mission preview on the web.

Using Adaptive Flight Offsets within the Growth plan can be helpful to navigate around obstacles as well.

Sounds encouraging but is that option available for Elite users?

    Hello Julian,

You cannot do that workflow. You would have to re-fly the full mission, or break the mission up and load the section you had made the change in.

The offset features is not in the Elite plan, sorry.

yeah, it's only on Growth that you have access to that feature. Starter does not include it.
