Take off without moving to first point
My DJI M3E will take off, but will not proceed to the first photo location set in the mission plan.
I have created successful and repeatable missions with Dronelink before. I created the plan in question and flew the site successfully December 2025. When I returned in January 2026, the drone takes off, the mission estimated time begins to count down, but the drone hovers above the takeoff location without moving to the first photo point.
I have done this mission and several others before and understand the steps that need to be taken to have a successful mission, and have tried the following troubleshooting methods with no resolve:
- Updated the drone and controller
- Turned everything on and off again
- Toggled RTK
- Duplicated the mission
- Recreated the mission from scratch
- Checked airspace restrictions (none found)
I am able to fly the drone manually without any issue. I tried to fly another mission several miles away that was created before the plan in question from the same location, the drone took off and proceeded to head to the first photo point though miles away. To me that rules out anything GPS related, etc...its something about this mission....

The best thing to do is to share the mission - it's almost impossible to help without that. Just make sure it is read only.
Just a thought, Is the controller switch is in normal “P” position.
Thanks Barry, I figured it out.
For those who run into the same issue, closing the DJI pilot app does not allow for the previously set max altitude to be over ridden by Dronelink. Before closing the DJI pilot app, make sure you adjust the altitude restriction to be above your Dronelink mission.
