Overlay reference image on live view to recreate the same shot (DJI Mavic Mini 1)

Filippo Romani

Hi everyone,
I have a first-generation DJI Mavic Mini and I need to recreate a shot from the exact same position and with the same framing as a photo taken some time ago.

I already have the original photo and I was wondering whether there is any way to overlay the reference image semi-transparently onto the live view, in order to align position and perspective accurately.

Thanks.

Hi Filippo Romani. If you go into your flown missions and find that previous mission you can open it and then copy into a Repo. So even if you deleted the plan some time ago you can always find it in your flown missions and copy into a Repo to be used again. DL does not delete your flown missions so you should have no problem finding it. You can search by date or the plan name which may help.

It it wasn’t a flown mission then the only thing you can do is look at the EXIF data and see if it has the coordinates. You can then create a blank plan and place a photo component near the location. Then you can change the coordinates for that location on the web app. The only other way is to use On the Fly and manually fly the drone to that location and frame it to get the shot. Then add a Photo component at that location to create a plan. Once done you can save it and it can then be accessed in the DL Web app and edited to meet your needs.
