focus mode on map mission

What is the recommended focus mode in "mission", and how do the available options work?

Hi Riccardo. It will depend on which drone you’re using. Some drones a have a fixed focus which you can’t change and some have focusing ability. The drones hardware works the same as when using the DJI app. If it’s a drone which has focusing ability then you would set it up the same way by either tapping to Auto Focus or manually focusing. There are a couple ways to set the focus but since the distance to the object is relatively the same during a mapping mission I’d suggest setting it to auto focus. However, you will still need to tap to focus once it’s in the air and just before the first capture by pausing the mission pitching down the gimbal to the desired angle and tapping to focus the image. Once it is set you can then resume the mission and you will not need to change it. You could manually adjust if you want but I’ve found the Auto Focus works really well with my drone. I believe the only drones which I know of which have Continuous Focus (AF-C) are usually the Pro series so unless you have a supported drone which has that ability it won’t work.

Thank you, Mike. I have a Mini 3 Pro.
I set it to 'Auto' mode. Before taking the first photo, I pause the mission and tap to focus on the target, but what would happen if I didn't do this?

When the drone powers up it should be focused.
