Question about unexpected gimbal movement
Hello All,
In reference to this plan which I have made public, I am wondering about something that happens. When the mission proceeds from motion step 3 to motion step 4, the gimbal suddely changes to facing downward. If I did something to cause that, I cannot figure that out, but would like to avoid that in the future. I did not post this in bug reports because I am not confident that this is a bug, but rather maybe my lack of understanding.

The mission was actually flown using my Mavic 2 Pro and it did exactly as the preview of the mission showed. But what I really wanted was the gimbal to continue at 0 degree's/horizon. Appreciate a learning opportunity if somebody can tell me what I did to cause my move to step 4 to have the gimbal at the wrong pitch.

Hi Tony. Not sure what you mean by motion step 3 to 4. If you mean destination 3 to 4 there is nothing. Starting at destination point 7 through 10 you have a gimbal command set to -90° on all those. I ran the mission preview and it is running as they are set. If you want the gimbal at 0° on path for entire mission then just delete those gimbal commands only. Hope this helps.
Just for info, you don’t need destination 4 since it has no changes from destination 3 and it is almost at the same location. Just an additional short destination with no real value to plan.
Thank you for checking it out! When I got the email that you had copied the plan I immediately smiled and said, now we will get to the bottom of it.
So, what I meant by motion step 3 to 4 was when previewing the mission, see this pic:
Also, I went to play it, and now the gimbal no longer goes down at the fourth motion block like it was. So it's a genuine mystery to me. The odd behavior is no longer happening.
Also, really appreciate you Mike.
Lol. Understood. Sometimes technology does things which baffle us. Enjoy Sir…
