approach in path recorded by path mode

Johank

I use path to record some latitudes and longtitudes. On every corner of the path i pressed mark to set a marker (duh).

The last marker was not near the starting point. When I look at the path on the web-app, it starts at the end of the recorded path and then flies (approach)??  to the first marker and begins running the path. Because on that route there is an obstacle, that route is very unwanted.

1. Do I have to ad a dynamic rth point ?

2. Will the drone fly that route or will it fly to marker one, from the spot where my drone is ?

Not sure if I fully understand your question. However, It’s not starting on the path. Your reference/ takeoff pin is directly under part of your path and looks like it’s starting on that section of the path. Your last waypoints and marker is not near the Reference/ take-off pin.

Also I noticed you have drone heading set to - value degrees. Not sure if that will work since degrees are usually given from 0° to 360°. So -16 degrees would be 344°. It may work with DL but I’ve never seen it that way. Just thought I’d mention it.

    2. Will the drone fly that route or will it fly to marker one, from the spot where my drone is ?

You can take off from anywhere you want. If the take-off location of your drone is not close enough to your reference pin location it will warn you and ask of you still want to launch. The Purple reference pin is just a “reference” and It will run the mission from wherever you launch and fly to the first destination. Only time it will not launch is if “Specific Area” is enabled and the drone is outside of that specified area. Usually used when AGL is being applied but can be used on any plan if wanted.

What is in your opinion my reference/ takeoff pin?  If that's the green pin, that should be my starting point indeed. But when I play a preview in the web-app playing starts at or near waypoint E and I don't understand why that is. Is it because that is the spot where I landed ?

The negative degrees are recorded by Dronelink when doing the path mode. I did not make changes to that. I did change the direction of the camera though. It first flew forward and then sideways.

The green pin is the destination, not the take-off/ reference pin. The purple pin is the reference pin and that is where you have the take-off starting from. The purple reference/ take-off pin should be placed where you will launch drone. The dotted path is where it will fly to the green destination pin. If you zoom in on the map you will see the purple pin which is under the path. It is not starting from that section of the path. It’s just underneath the path on the map. You can move the reference pin anywhere you want to launch from. It won’t change the rest of the plan, just the take-off location.

Understand about DL setting the - degree value. Maybe it sets it that way when using “On the fly Path” function. Normally when creating a plan the value cannot be set to a negative value. It will default back for zero. Just something I noticed in your plan. I use drone heading a lot and it will never let me enter anything other then 0 to 360° so I’m guessing it’s the “On the Fly” function which does it that way. Just an observation.

Thank you for your explanation. For now I know that I have to check the path created by the “On the fly Path” function carefully. Because it's starting point (the purple pin) is different from the point from where I started the "On the fly path" function.
