GPS signal weak

stefano roccella

Dear Sirs,

recently I bought your growth license for my DJI Mini 4 pro and I am testing it. Yesterday I tested at the flight camp a safety manouver disconnecting the RC by switching it off. The drone engaged the RTH procedure as I supposed but I think that the app message is misleading. I got "GPS signal weak" and I was concerned about that and I hoped the drone was able to come back. I think that the app should give "Remote Control disconnected" or "Remote control signal weak" in order the pilot be more confident that GPS is still working.

Thanks a lot and regards

Stefano

Hi Stefano. Not sure how if you turned off the controller it was still displaying but I understand your concern. It doesn’t matter if you lose connection, turn off the controller or it hits low battery it will always return to the recorded home-point which is is stored on the drone. It works the same as when using the DJI Fly app or any other app. So a controller disconnect for whatever reason won’t affect the RTH and it will always trigger it to return to the recorded home-point. I imagine the GPS signal weak is what DJI is reporting and would be the same when using the Fly app. Regardless, a disconnect will trigger the RTH and return at the altitude you set in the app. Fly with confidence.
