prefer a path without POI ...?
I got the best plan ever done by creating a path without POI ... setting the markers with Drone Heading vs path and Gimbal Pitch vs Horizon.
In this way I obtained the best fluidity of movement of the camera without jerks otherwise obtained in the paths constructed by using POI.

Can you share the path please ?
I will run it for testing. Thanks.
Just one of the many amazing functions DL has to offer. I use path with drone heading, gimbal pitch, with interpolation all the time. Overall though, using POI markers have worked great for me with no jerkiness. Curious what issues you've had ?
Mike, here is a link to my last video showing Jerky effects. I use several POI.
This is why I am interested with the "gimbal/heading" method.

Hi Stéphane. That is really bad and not just jerky but seems like it’s not finding the POI and staying close to it. I’ve never had anything like that with a POI while viewing the onscreen video feed or the video pulled from SD card. Looks like it may be one of many things. A smaller and lighter drone especially with winds, the devices processing power, SD card etc. can be the issues. The device being used is one of the biggest issues. If it can’t handle the load and process the software commands fast enough it may lag and cause issues. DL needs a powerful device in order to have the best results.
I’ve flown my MA2 about 1,000 minutes with DL and never had any issue like this using POI’s. Even my MM looks very good and it’s no where as good as the MA2. I only use IOS devices and 99% of the time it’s my iPad Mini 5 which is plenty powerful enough to handle the load. I starting using DL with my MA2 from the first Beta version in December, 2020 when it came out and even with some of the issues it had, I’ve had nothing like what your getting.
Curious what drone, device and SD card your using ? Is that video pulled directly off the SD card. If so what SD card are you using ? I only use Sandisk Extreme or Extreme Pro V30 speed rated SD cards. However, any big name brand V30 rated or higher SD card should work great. How does the onscreen video feed look when running the actual mission ? I don’t believe it’s a DL issue but I guess anything is possible.
If it wasn’t 30 to 50 mph winds right now I’d do a quick path with several POI’s to show the difference with my drone. I believe something else is causing this. I’ll create a plan and when it settles down in next couple days or so I’ll fly it with my MM and MA2 and record video to compare. I’d like to help you and Marco if help is wanted.
Good luck. Mike……
Can you share your plan ?
Mike,
Below the path copied in a public repo.
Drone is mini2, sd card is SanDisk v30, smartphone is Samsung A51.
If you can share one of the POIed path so that I can play it and see the result?

Hopefully tomorrow I can fly both my MM and MA2 with the same plan I’ve created. I’ll definitely send the video and share the plan when completed. I’ll look at your plan and see if I can find anything which may be causing the issue. 😃

Hi Stephane. I looked at your plan and I believe I figured out the issue. When using POI markers the interpolation needs to be set properly especially when using multiple POI’s. When any POI marker is set it will start interpolating before it gets to it if the interpolation is set to Linear or Curved. Setting interpolation to None will allow the drone to stay on the last POI until it gets to the next one. You can set to either of the two but especially when POI’s are close it will always start interpolating before getting to the next marker.
You may already know this but thought I’d throw this in for future info. Once even one POI or any other marker is set on any path it will perform that function for the entire path no matter how long it is until you set another marker with a command. So once you are done focusing on the POI you need to place another marker just after it with a drone heading command or something else or it will stay on the last one.
I ran the exact plan with just the interpolation changed to None on Google Earth and it looks good. I did remove just two markers which were placed with no command but that won’t change anything. Just extra makers you probably missed. I believe they were markers 16 and 17. It will all depend where you want each POI to actually start and how you want it to look. As usual there can be several ways to set up a plan but this should give you an idea of what can be done and and better look with the transitioning.
Hope this helps. Enjoy, Mike…..
Run this it and compare them both on Google Earth.

Thanks Mike for the support.
I will test it later because here (in France) we have to declare any flight to the authorities at least 5 days before the mission 😒. I will update you.
Another thing you can do to avoid transitioning to a new POI too soon is to add another marker for the same POI at the point that you want to start the transition. If you add a plain marker (not a marker+POI), then in the list of attributes that you can add, there is an option to add a "Point of interest (existing)" and it will automatically select the POI from the previous marker. That will hold the POI up to this second marker, and you can use the curved or linear interpolation from that point to the next POI marker.
Yes Roger. Tried to keep it simpler and not go into the weeds but good info. Usually several ways or more to set up a plan. It can get complicated. Enjoy.
hello guys, here is also the video made with the previously shared path. enjoy

Very smooth. Don’t know if it is the gimbal/heading method or due to the drone (or both) but the result is very good from my point of view.
Drone heading on a path does work great and I use it quite a bit. It just won’t give you the same look with a POI. Two different approaches but both are great. All depends on what look your trying to create. Time, Practice and patience really pays off. I create a lot of plans just to test many different functions/ features and settings. About 75% of all the plans I’ve created I’ve never actually flown. I run Mission Preview and when close to looking good I run on Google Earth to test them. I’ve learned a lot about how to set up a plan. Doesn’t hurt to create a basic plan, make several copies and try different settings on each. Enjoy…
