P4RTK - disable distortion correction in Dronelink?

Cameron McCurdy

Is there a way to disable distortion correction (dewarp) for the P4RTK in the Dronelink app (iOS)? My buddy has a used P4RTK SDK he is messing around with, and so far he has been unable to figure out how to disable the P4RTKs distortion correction in Dronelink or DJI GS Pro. I'm processing images from his test missions in PIX4D and at first the point clouds were coming out a giant distorted ball - after some research, I found that disabling distortion correction seems to resolve this issue.

The only app he has been able to turn it off in is DJI Pilot (on his crappy Android tablet) - then he is able to fly a mission in Dronelink and the distortion corrections stays turned off (until a battery change is needed, and then it resets the setting). He'd rather not use his android tablet because he encounters performance issues with it, so I'm wondering if there is a way for him to use Dronelink on iOS and turn off the distortion correction there?

Thanks!

One thing to keep in mind is that when flying with iOS on the P4RTK, you can not do any PPK processing.  The gnss log files are only saved to the SD card when you use DJI Pilot on Android.  Using DJI GS Pro allows you to do an RTK flight, but the log files for PPK are not saved to the SD card.  And no other 3rd party apps I tried write the log files on Android.  Just an fyi.

I use an Huawei M5 and it works nicely.

He has not really messed with the RTK yet, I'm just trying to help him get it so his images will process correctly in PIX4D. Accurate geolocation won't do much good if the images won't process properly.

I think his intent is to eventually buy the Business subscription that enables RTK and just use RTK in Dronelink because he had mentioned setting it up on a CORS network. That being said, if I can't help him figure out a way to disable dewarping in Dronelink iOS, he may just have to resort to buying a better Android tablet and use DJI Pilot in conjunction with Dronelink. He won't be too happy to hear that he needs to buy more equipment; it's been a nightmare trying to figure out the perfect combination of flight apps, tablets, and processing software that actually works and fits his needs.

    Thanks for the info!

Is this the setting you are looking for? If so, I am going to move this to feature requests.

I believe he referred to it as "video dewarping" when he finally found the setting in DJI Pilot, so yes that seems the likely culprit.
