Beta Versions

Mike (Arizona Wyldwest) Dronelink Expert Dronelink Expert

Hi Jim. I’ve been using just the Beta versions for about the last 6 months or more with my MA2 and occasionally my MM. I figure the app has been so good over the last year that testing newer versions before they are pushed into the production versions can’t hurt. The app has been amazing overall and no major issues for me. I obviously don’t use all the features or functions and can’t test every new one which is added due to the drone model I use. However, functionality of the app overall, drone connection, video feed, settings, editing and actual missions have all worked great. Just thought I’d give my overall opinion using Beta version. Just used Beta 3.4.0 (186) yesterday and no issues.

Keep up the great work and please thank the Dronelink team.

Mike……..

I completely agree with Mike. I would suggest just two things. It'd be great to have a notification (in the app or email) when a new beta version is released. I only notice new versions are available when someone comments on that in the forum. And also, since I usually download the app to install, I'd be great to include the version number in the file, in case you have to return to a previous one. Keep it up with the great job you are doing!

Sebastian: If your  using the IOS Test Flight app then you can turn on push notifications. Not sure how it is for Android devices but I’m fairy sure it should have the same option.

Also if you look at the Test Flight app it will show the newer released version number and it has the previous builds listed. It will give the info about whats included in the newer version and all the older versions as well. Just click on it and it will show all the info. Hope this helps.

Also forgot to mention you can turn on the notifications in your device settings.

Thanks so much for your feedback Mike, you're really kind. Sadly none of those features are available in the Android app so far. I would love to buy an Apple device, but it's still way off my budget. Also since I'm flying an Air2s now, I'm forced to use an Android device until the new OIS sdk is released. Thanks so much again for your time.

Doesn’t your device have notification settings ? I figured each app should have a choice of turning on or off.
