Save part of mission as component
I have a mission which has been flown successfully. I would like to insert an orbit at a particular spot and then continue with mission. Is there a way I can convert the end of mission after the orbit to a component and reattach after orbit. Thanks

If asking to insert a Orbit anywhere along an already setup plan then no. A component can only be added at the end of a path or destination. You can not break up a plan and add anything in the middle of it. Hopefully this is what you were asking. If not maybe give a bit more info.
You can save a component by copying to clipboard and the inserting it into another plan. However, you still can insert in the middle of it.
Good luck Norman.
Mike……
Doing what I want would require deleting about half the mission to attach orbit. I was looking for a way to convert the last half to component and then merely attaching to out from orbit instead of creating it all over again.
It would be nice to pause the mission, run another component (ie orbit, or another pattern), then resume the previous mission.
You can already do this. Just pause the mission, go back and open the other mission, run it, then resume the first mission.
Norman. Yes it would a bit of work but doesn’t take much time at all. However, you can copy the plan so you don’t lose the original. Then just redo the copied plan and place the Orbit where you want it. Also as I stated, you can copy a path or Orbit etc. from any plan to the clipboard and and then add it where you want in any other plan. It helps save time so the Orbit parameters or even a paths settings are are the same and can still be adjusted once copied. Doesn’t take much time to set up a different plan.
Also you can create several different Orbit plans with just the Orbit and have different diameters, altitude, speed, gimbal pitch etc. Then just open one of them and copy to clipboard. Then close it and open a plan or create a new one with a path. Then add the Orbit from clipboard where you want it. Just some ideas you may want to try. Hope this helps. Enjoy.
I've recently posted two videos that might help.
First - how to insert things into a path: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/crlwVvVohRM
Second - how to insert an orbit (similar): https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/c3n1bHVDmUn
I hope those are useful.

Thanks Barry, Jim and Mike, after seeing the links I remembered that I'd seen them suggested a while back but forgot, it's hell to get old :). That gives Me a number of options and more time experimenting.
I used the "insert things to path". I have deleted appropriate waypoints in each path. Is there a way to hide one of the entire paths to facilitate working on the other? I tried the layers option but it's not selective to particular path. Thanks
No Norman. Either the entire path or none. Barry’s help has been very informative for me. His Five minute Fridays are useful too. Many things can be done a few different ways so it’s something which you can decide is best to get the results you want. Those tutorials he gave are useful. Enjoy..
I have a multi path plan and I want to hide one path so I can work on the other one without the clutter. I can't seem to find a way to do it?
The only way I think of doing this is to copy the items you want to keep into the clipboard (you can have more than one) and then remove them. You can then put them back by inserting a component from the clipboard, but you might have to adjust the position after the insert.
Thanks
