export - import of kmz

stéphane GARNIER

Hello,

I didn't tested it yet, but, ... , is it possible to export a kmz file from DL, and then import the file in a smart controller to perform the mission with a drone ?

Mavic 2 accepts kmz through Smart Controller. This I already tested .

Rgds,

It would help to understand the use case for why you want to do this.

I am assuming what you want is to upload the mission to the drone (onboard components) instead of using the virtual sticks.

If that is the case, then this video might give you what you need:  https://youtu.be/4F-W4HKJlmA

Thanks Barry for your reply. I appreciate the video.

I have one UC in mind that I would like to apply. Currently I own 2 Dji drones : mini 2  and  Mavic 2 enterprise advanced (plus Parrot Anafi). Regarding DL , I only purchased Hobbyist Elite option as I do not have any pro business.  Goal would be to run the mission with mini2 first , then export the kmz file to re-run the mission  for M2EA usage (thermal imaging)

    Hope I am clear enough.

    Rgds.

    Hi,

If you run a simulation in DL, and then use the export to Google Earth button it will create a KMZ that can be imported into Google Earth to give a 3D preview.

I don't know if that file is in the same format you need but it might be worth a look.

Edit:  Also note that it won't have all of the actions in the KMZ file - just the flight.  Maybe that is OK but consider that.

This is clearly what I intend to check.
