UNLOCK ZONES??
What's the story if you want to fly in a locked geo zone/or open a zone etc ...
I know the process with the DJI app. Would you apply and do the same with DJI and then use your drone link app?
or do you need to apply for permission with Drone-Link??
Thanks in advance

Yes, unlock in DJI app first. However, some have had issues and some have not when using DL. Seems to be no rhyme or reason.
Maybe this link will help. As Jim has stated it’s the the DJI code. Maybe Jim has a more current update on this issue.

I have flown quite a few missions in locked zones by unlocking first and then flying with DL (and other apps).
If you want to be extra safe, apply for an unlock code that can be loaded into the drone through the DJI Flysafe system. However, that takes longer and cannot be done on site. But, once loaded, it stays in the drone, not the controller. The only thing to be aware of then is that it sometimes needs to be reloaded after a battery swap.
I didn’t know it could be loaded onto the drone. Is it for any the DJI drones ?
Mike (Arizona Wyldwest) Go here and watch the video, specifically the bit about custom unlocking.
