Negative gimbal settings

Allen Morrell
In mission planning, how do I set the gimbal to point downwards (i.e. -30 degrees)? There is no negative symbol on the keyboard and everything I try reverts back to a positive setting. I'm flying an Air2S with a Samsung Galaxy S10+, Android 11. Love the app so far.

All keyboards should have a negative symbol somewhere, even if you have to press shift or something. Or you can click the arrows:

Crazy as it may seem...I have a Galaxy S21 and...there is no minus sign in that input and the up/down arrows don't appear either. The up/down also doesn't appear on my iPad mini (which does have a minus sign).

However, on the S21 there is a little keyboard sign below and it lets me switch to other keyboard layouts and if I select Microsft Swiftkey, that has a minus sign.  Maybe that will work for you?

Interesting, the onscreen keyboard on my Pixel 4 has a minus sign.

All I have on mine is a number keypad 0-9, Delete key, blue GO, and a period. I don't even have the up/down arrows next to Degrees.

I also have a Samsung S10 and unable to set a minus gimbal setting on the phone as the symbol does not appear. However I always create and amend plans on either my computer or iPad due to screen size

I have Galaxy S20+.  The default Samsung keyboard should have a lower left key that takes you to the symbols screen with a minus sign.  Also, if you press and hold the comma key, it should bring up a choice of symbols including the minus.  If not, try to press and hold the period key.

My work around has been to type in my negative setting (-35, etc.) on a text screen and copy it. Then, when I need it I can paste it in. It's a bit of a pain, but at least I can do it on the phone without having to bring my laptop with me. I understand what everyone is saying about the keyboard, but a keyboard doesn't come up for the settings. I get a number pad, 0-9 with a delete key, GO key and a period. Even pressing and holding the period doesn't do anything when it's just a number pad.

I am the latest victim of this keyboard setting. After 30 minutes of colorful language I went to a text document , typed in a negative sign, copied that to the clipboard, then spent another 30 minutes trying to find a paste command. Eventual victory 1 hour later!

Found out how to install the Google Keyboard on Samsung phones in Reddit. Now a better keyboard defaults when entering numeric values.
