turn radius in mapping missions

Mike Liggett

Hi, I live in a dense urban area and have some tight constraints on my mapping missions. I don't want to spill into busy roadways so is there a way to tighten up the turns on map missions to be able to still capture the extents of my projects, but keep turns to a minimum?

In read a post about slowing speed, but is there another way?  If I slow speed and have a minimum capture interval set, could that produce more photos/overlap than desired?

thx

also some of these missions could be rather large and speed is sometimes a needed element.

A few thoughts that spring to mind.

    1. Slow down (yes, I know you have mentioned that but...that's the easiest option to give yourself time to turn)
    2. Make sure that the long sections run parallel to the major roads
    3. Create several missions - a big fast one in the middle that captures most of what you need, and slower/smaller ones around the edges.  Might even be just a single row in each direction.

Ultimately, physics dictates that if you are traveling at a certain speed, it will take a set amount of time to slow down and turn.

    Hope that helps

If you turn on distance based capture priority, it will stop right at the boundary and go no further.

    Always adding new functionality :)
