Mini 2, Mini SE, and Air 2S Support + Android 12
Hey everyone!
Happy to announce that the latest Android beta (build 183) now has support for the Mini 2, Mini SE, and Air 2S. Unfortunately, DJI has not released an update to the iOS SDK (nor have they given a timeline), so these drones are Android only right now. Also, the SDK has several bugs in the DJI SDK which prevent the following functionality:
- Velocity-based rotation for the gimbal (such as interpolating between two markers on a path with different gimbal pitches) on the Air 2S
- Airdata integration (DJI changed the flight log format again).
This build also corrects the issues users were having with Android 12 (if you still see issues with Android 12, please provide feedback).

The iOS beta (3.3.1, build 189) now has support for the Air 2S, Mini 2, and Mini SE (with limitations).
We haven't added the camera specs for the new drones so you can just select one that is closest or use the custom option. If you know the specs please post them.

Fun, sadly these UI screens are part of DJI's code and they have abandoned their UI library so we are going to have to eventually create our own set of screens, which is time consuming.
What mobile device are you using?
Air 2S - 13.2 mm x 8.8 mm, focal length - about 8.5 mm (22mm - 35mm equivalent)
Mini 2 - 6.3 mm x 4.7 mm, focal length - about 4.5 mm (24mm - 35mm equivalent)
Mini SE should be the same ... and the same as the Mavic Mini, Mavic Air and others.
Thanks! Just FYI, you may have to select "previous builds" in TestFlight because we are also actively testing the next beta as well (3.4.0), which doesn't have the DJI SDK 4.16 merged yet.
If you installed it from Google Play originally, you need to uninstall it first before you can install the APK, or just wait for the Google Play version.
I left a long overdue review on iTunes app store. Dronelink is the serious drone automation app and should be people's go-to for automation. The really amazing part to think about is how much capabilities and power Dronelink has brought to every supported drone, and now the Mini-SE. For a $ to capability comparison, it is unreal to think that somebody could pick up a Mini-SE <$400 and add dronelink and have so many features ready to fly.
I have been using Dronelink with my M2 Zoom, and now that I can use it with a Mini2 and Air2S...well, it's about to get crazy in here! : )
Could very well be. Yes of course. The joy of beta participation! : )
Hey Jim, it is working now. There are two issues so far. The first one is minor and something that someone on youtube mentioned over a year ago and that is while orbiting a point, the yaw control isn't constant or smooth and it looks like a series of sharp yaw inputs. See this clip: https://youtu.be/w3UTzi_OEP4?t=318
The second one might be more android 12 / shitty Air2S SDK but I got about 3 frames total from the video feed and smooth telemetry for a test orbit this morning. One frame on the ground, one taking off and one about 1 minute in. I still have full remote control, just the video is screwing up. I haven't tried it again yet but thought I'd mention it here in case it rings any bells.
Cheers
Hey Jim,
Thanks for the info on the controls. I'm using a pixel 6 pro. Dji had issues with them on Android 12 for their dji fly app which was probably only fixed 6 weeks ago.
It's working so far
The weak signal message has been there a long time on the Mini. This has been discussed and apparently it’s only with Android devices. DJI was supposed to fix the SDK but still not solved. It’s believe it’s only on Mini’s and it’s only when using Android devices. As long as there is no messages or errors being reported while using in the DJI Fly app you should not worry about it. The new release of Beta for these drones is for Android only at this time so you will probably have this message, forever. But Who knows. Good luck.

Got a friend with photoshop to check a Mini 2 image. 4.49mm focal length.
Yes, I was able to map about 5 acres successfully with my Air 2S despite all my issues documented in my earlier post. It just took a lot of manual intervention and restarting.
I also had to delete a lot of images due to the fact it continued to take a lot of images despite it erroring out and not moving the camera gimble automatically, so I had to adjust the delete the ones while I was adjusting.
Glad to hear it is doable Double Axel! I'm gonna try some mapping missions today if my day job ever concludes. : )
Joao, it worked beautiful. I am very happy. Flew same mission with both mini2 and air2s and will be comparing camera quality later today once my odm runs finish.
I read there were Serious Issues with the DJI SDK a day ago and already up. DL continues to impress and I’m sure IOS users will be happy. I’m curious to see the difference compared to Android device usage and those issues. Hopefully DJI didn’t rush it too much.
That definitely the greatest news of the year.
Jim, realizing I am a bit late to the game. I have both the Mini 2 and the Air2S and would love to be a beta participant. I just saw the next article to do exactly that, I will be doing that. Thank you!!

👍🏼 That was quick. Great news for all those with Android devices. I’m only guessing but IOS probably takes a bit more for a reason.
Sadly, no iOS because DJI chose to only add these to the Android DJI SDK for now.
Jim, i downloaded the Beta Installation APK (64bit), but the Installation fails on my S21 Ultra (German) with Android 12 saying that it is in conflict with an existing package ... whatever that means...
Great news Jim! Thanks so much! I was able to access the aircraft and will try my first mission in a few hours. I tried to create a map mission, but the Air 2s is not listed yet in the "camera" options. Are you planning to add it. I will try a custom setting for now. Congratulations for your great work. Happy new year!
We will add them eventually. If you have the specs, please post them.
I echo Sebastian's congratulations. It is fantastic that Dronelink is right there with a beta so soon after DJI finally coming up off the goods. Dronelink continues to deliver!
I just purchased a basic plan so I could test the beta on my Mavic Mini se and now I'm getting a message that I must purchase another plan for the mavic mini se? Doesn't the basic plan work like all others?
It may have corrected itself. I'll mess with it some more and see if it's working.
Thanks for the bug report. It should be corrected now.
Thanks! We would be grateful if you left a 5-star review in the App Store (iOS | Android)
I need to test the product first then I'll post a review.
I'll be testing Dronelink on my mavic mini se. I have a question about way points. will this drone have the capability to continue on with the waypoint mission if it loses signal (onboard waypoints?) or is it only a virtual joystick input type of command?
