ORBIT ISSUE

Drone Pilot

HI ALL. MY  ISSUE IS IN ORBIT THE CAMERA DOES NOT STAY POINTING  INWARD. AS THE CAMERA MOVES IN THE ORBIT MODE IT KEEPS CHANCHING TO THE OUTWARD POSSISION.  WHAT AM I DOING  WRONG?

Can you share the mission and the results?  That would be easier to diagnose.

It appears that you changed the max rotation rate to 3 degrees / second, but this orbit needs at least 6 to keep the center in view. Is there a reason you set such a low max rotation rate?

    Jim McAndrew Wow!  Good spot!

I was looking at this last night and couldn't figure out why when I created a new orbit in a new mission it worked fine, but when I took one that was working and pasted it into this mission it didn't work.

I just tried that changing the rotation rate and...mystery solved!

testing the diffrent rotations speed for smooth camera rotation.

The rotational accelerations will have more of an effect on that, but if you want the smoothest possible orbit, you should try the Orbit mode (in the native app, on the fly functions - lightning bolt icon).

When people use the word "complex" I always translate that to "complete".  I never really got the hang of the other automation apps before having already started with Dronelink.

Drone Pilot: Your above plan reference is set to “Ground Level.” You should change the “Takeoff restriction” in the settings to “Specific Area.” You can see the Red Issue detector which explains that and may cause an issue. Hope this helps.
