Flying a grid with onboard waypoints (loss of connection)

Hello,

I am considering a subscription because I have had many problems in the past with other drone capture apps where I experienced a lack of connectivity while flying a grid mission. Here the drone stops in the middle of the mission and hovers untill it reconnects with the app again. 

Now I understand that it is possible to add a mission grid (through map template?) as onboard waypoints such that the drone continues even after temporary loss of signal is this correct?

Or does this only apply to the waypoint mission template where I have to set all waypoints manually.
