Location not working with new IOS update to 15.1 on iPad
Anyone with a iPad Mini or other iPad device may encounter this problem. I’m using iPad Mini 5 and could not get any iPad browsers, (Firefox, Chrome or Safari) to find my location on the map with Dronelink web app. Only thing I found that worked was going into the settings under “General” then going all the way down to the bottom to “Transfer or reset iPad” Then click “Reset” and select “Reset Location and Privacy”. Restated my iPad and all browsers worked with DL web app. I didn’t try the DL Native App for missions prior to resetting but I’m guessing it may have had the same issue. Either way, I checked the Native app afterwards and it asked for all the permissions as a new install when I started it and everything works to include my location.
This just happened over night after downloading the newest IOS update to 15.1. There are two to choose from. One was IOS 14.? and the other was this 15.1. I selected to update to the 15.1. Not sure if the other version had this issue.
I checked all settings and everything was correct and turned on for allowing DL. My Google and Apple Maps worked but for some reason none of the browsers I used could find my home location to include DL. Just incase anyone else is having this issue. Hope this helps.
Also my iPhone 8 plus worked without any issue. It was just my iPad.
Good luck and enjoy. Mike……….

For me, on Ipad 5 Cellular on IOS 15.1, the location works just as well as before the update.
Makes sense. It may be due to my iPad being a WiFi only since my iPhone worked fine and obviously has cellular service. Many with WiFi only iPad Minis on here. Maybe it will help. Enjoy VG ! …..
Thank you Mike (Arizona Wyldwest)! Plenty of places too where cellular does not work, so glad to know about this.
