How to Get the Function Feature??

Chris Laframboise

I currently use Dronelink with both my Spark and my Phantom 3 Standard.

I have the Hobbyiest Premium account which I am very pleased with as it has pretty much everything I want except the Function Feature. I use the On The Fly feature a lot to create  missions for light painting but would like to experiment with some more custom control and even create some of my own OTF functions. I also would like to be able to edit some of the existing OTF functions such as the 360º photo so that it will work with the Spark gimbal.

I would really like to be able to try out the Function feature but when I click on it, it tells me I need to upgrade to an Enterprise plan. As my use is just for hobby and not for commercial or sales, is there a way to get this feature added to my current plan? I am willing to upgrade my plan but I do not want to pay a large sum of money for an upgrade that will give me lots of extra features that I won't use when I only want one additional feature. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Chris

We do not support a-la-carte features yet.

Thanks for your reply Jim. What would be the cost to upgrade my plan to the minimum plan needed to get the Function feature?

At the moment it is only available in Enterprise. I will post an update if/when we get al-la-carte working.

Thanks for letting me know. Is there any other work-arounds in the meantime to edit OTF functions like spirals, orbits and 360 photos with my existing plan?

    Thanks,

    Chris

I temporarily changed your account to Enterprise if you want to check it out.

I will. Thank you very much. Just for my info, what is the cost of an Enterprise acct? You can email me directly if you don’t want to post it.

    Thanks again,
    Chris

Jim, I have been checking out the temporary Enterprise acct specifically the function feature and the ability to edit OTF missions. I have never been able to delete the Destination component of the 360 OTF function so that I can create a customized 360 mission that will work with my Spark (with gimbal edits) and be able to use the same mission at different launch sites. I just came back from trying out my customized mission that was originally an OTF 360 mission and the mission completed successfully. The images will likely not stitch well as it was a windy but this was just a test flight to see if the mission edits would work and they did.

I am now going to see if I can get the 360 photos OTF mission modified so that it works with the Spark as well.

Coding an OTF mission from scratch using the Function feature looks quite technical. I am going to check this out a bit more.

Anyway, I very much appreciate you giving me temporary access to Enterprise.

The Enterprise plan is intended for businesses that are performing thousands of missions per year, and it is priced as such. If you want more details you can email support@dronelink.com, but I don't think it will be right for your use case.

I figured that, but thanks for getting back to me.

However, being able to edit and customize some of the OTF functions to suit my individual use case scenario is an upgrade I would be willing to pay for to have. Maybe there will be a way in the future to add this to some of the other plans. Also, the ability to create custom code to generate mission plans on the fly (ie., the Function feature) is something I would be interested in exploring but I would need to learn more about this first before diving in.

I just rolled this out as an a la carte feature in your plan. Can you confirm that it is working? If so, please email support@dronelink.com for pricing.

    Hi Jim,

Sorry for the delay in my reply. I have just checked my plan and the Function feature is still greyed out - I cannot access it.  It says I need the Enterprise plan.

    Try refreshing the page.

That worked. It's funny, yesterday I tried logging in and out and that didn't work but refreshing the page does it. Never would have thought that.

Thanks for doing this. I really appreciate it. I will email support for pricing.

    Hi Jim,

I am in the same boat. I purchased an elite license yesterday, thinking I can create custom functions. But It is showing that the feature is available for enterprise licenses only.

    Thanks,

    Akash
