Mavic 2 Pro - Choosing between FOV and HQ does not change the angle of 75 and 55 degrees.

vg1
I did a photo quality comparison test for a Mavic 2 Pro taken with the Dronlink app. I compared FOV and HQ at different altitudes. It turned out that selecting the "Mavic 2 - Pro (HQ)" and "Mavic 2 - Pro (Full FOV)" options in the flight plan options did not change the angle of 75 and 55 degrees. The only change is greater longitudinal and transverse coverage, i.e. a larger area of overlapping photos and more lines of passage. The area photographed for 1 photo, both settings are the same.

Is it a Dronelink bug or is it an SDK?

This is a setting for videos only IIRC.

So these "cm / px" parameters are wrong for a photo? No matter what I choose "HQ / FOV" I will have 2.35 cm / px for 100 meters?

It doesn’t really matter what the GSD numbers report, because in the end the camera can’t actually take photos in two different ways. Like I said, this only applies when the camera is in video mode - photos always just use the full sensor, as you can see in your comparisons.

So it's not worth using HQ, because the number of photos and, of course, flight time increases? With FOV, will I have the same?

What about the Mavic 2 Zoom, can you use optical zoom when taking pictures with the Dronlink app? From the same flight altitude, you can get more photo detail?

Not a question of worth it as much as it would just be incorrect. The photos are taken with the sensor, so you should always select Full FOV for proper GSD calculations.

    Yes
