"Grid Failed" message immediately after mission start

Adam G

I can't seem to find and discussion on this mission failure.  Once I hit the mission start (play) button, I immediately get a pop-up message saying "Grid Failed", with a bunch of other text about restarting etc..  Anyone have a clue what the problem might be?

Thanks,

Adam

I can't seem to screenshot while I'm in Dronelink.  However, I tried a slightly different procedure for starting the mission, and it worked.  The procedure is now:

-Start and take off in DJI Fly.

-Disconnect cable from controller (while drone is hovering).

    -Exit out of DJI Fly.

    -Connect cable to controller.

-Start Dronelink (and load project, wait for communication with drone).

    -Hit mission start button.

If you can at least post the exact error message from before that would help us determine if there is a bug.

Once it comes up again, I'll try to write it down.  All I can tell you for 100% certainty is that it said (in larger letters at the top of the gray colored pop-up dialog error box) is "GRID FAILED".  Below that in smaller letters it listed suggested procedures such as restarting drone.  I did follow the recommended android procedure for screen capture (which has never failed me until now), and it didn't screen capture.  Normally this is done while the phone is in portrait mode, and since Dronelink was operating in landscape mode, this may be why screencapture failed.

Are you sure it didn't say something like Gimbal Failed?

    100% positive.

It appears that you named your Map "Grid" which is why it shows that. What is really means is the Map failed, and the reason given was that ground elevations were unavailable.

    Jim,

Thanks.  I tried to recreate the error, unsuccessfully.  I'm not certain yet, but I believe the error was either because the phone gps was possibly turned off, or was rectified when I changed from "above ground" to "above takeoff".
