Pause on path , take photo and continue to next photo, pause on patch etc.
It would be great if we could drop a marker and have the drone pause the path and hover, take a photo then continue to the next marker to do the same thing. Code the marker and then duplicate it and drop in photo locations.

You might consider using Destination components instead.
+1 on this. I've been trying out drone link to aid in photogrammetry efforts (hobbyist working in tech art), so far with just my mavic mini while in the city, but will be trying it out with my air2 when I'm out of the city (and will be getting an air2s once supported).
I've noticed motion blur in some of the photos which could be alleviated by having a "pause on photo" option in the Map and Orbit components (although this could possibly be an option across every component if built into the photo settings).
I realize this would take longer to complete the flight plan, however, I would prefer that over motion blur in the photos. Destination setups would be very tedious to setup I would imagine.
Great software Jim !
This is exactly how the Inspection component functions. You can either plan your mission with an inspection component directly, or plan it as a path with markers and then convert it to an inspection component.
Well that's unfortunate - I purchased the elite hobbyist package, and that feature is unavailable. I suppose I can speed limit the drone to something very slow to reduce motion blur, but I still think this could be a default feature.
You can sign up for a business account that has the feature and we can cancel / refund your hobbyist account if you really want it.
I appreciate the offer, but unfortunately that's out of the budget for me for this task. I'm volunteering my time to help scan a location with stone art sculptures for a retired art teacher. I got this software to help with that project, and I still think this will help out quite a bit. I just have to accept some motion blur, or slow the drone down to 1/5th to 1/10th speed. I will still be capturing the lower altitude photos manually as I don't want risk any crashes. I've been able to do a fair bit manually already, however my goal was to use this to capture the rest of the property. I have no doubts it will help - I'm just requesting this as a "nice to have" feature as it sounds relatively straightforward from a high level. If this is something you are only offering to monthly paid subscriptions, I understand.
Here's the manual capture (test run - going back in spring on an overcast day) :
Chris, I used the components that Jim suggested and it works.. Fly to a point.. stop.. take a picure. then set your next point etc. A Pain in the ass but I couldn't afford the $$ either.

Thanks Matt,
I will give it a shot. The problem is the property I am scanning is 1.5km x 1km so setting up manual points along that path would take me far too long to setup. It would be faster to do it all manually at that point for me.
Can I write a script that can be imported into dronelink ?
Maybe set it up and slow it down. it may take longer but at a slower speed you should be able to avoid the blur if you have the camera setting right. I'm not an expert and I didn't stay in a Holiday Inn express last night.
That's funny you mention Holiday Inn, as my apartment building is right beside one. Is that listed somewhere on my profile or was that just random ?
But yes, you are right slowing it down might be the best approach, unless there's a way to import a json file into dronelink somehow, in which case I can likely just write a script to enter the destination points.
I was just trying to be funny from the commercials.
Gotcha. Sorry I don't watch much TV so I didn't get the reference.
If you were 65 like me and there wasn't social media or much for the net, TV was it.
Fair enough. I'm only 42, but most of my off hours are spent expanding my shader / programming knowledge.
I have the same desire (as Chris) to automatically stop and take a photo of a POI, then move on to another POI location and take another photo, and so on. When I tried the inspection component, it popped up with $19.99 per month, which is not an option for this hobbyist. I currently have the premium version.
I am aware of the 'disengage' marker which is what I use. Snap the photo and resume the mission, but it's not automatically the same shot. I am going to try what was mentioned in another post about slowing way down to reduce photo blur.
Also, if there is a tutorial on those 'capture' commands, that would explain things to a layman, I would appreciate it. Whenever I try to use it, I get warnings.
Other than that, it's great software. I use it with a Mavic Air 2.
Hi,
Is there still no way to pause on photos taken on a standard mapping project?
If you really must come to a complete stop, you can convert a mapping mission to an inspection: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/14284770801043-5MF-Converting-missions-to-Inspection-Missions
Ah I see thank you. I'll have to consider upgrading my package. Thank you
