Add on feature to mapping plan: Facade or Orbit
Would it be possible to have add-on feature to mapping plan?
Such as adding on the Facade, orbit, or single path with adjustable gimbal orientation as feature for an additional charge?
Your mapping plan and functionality works great for 95% of our needs, however in our application for mapping mine sites, quarries and Heavy Civil construction sites, we also have a need for gathering additional imagery on the faces, highwalls and cut slopes where the facade, partial orbit, or single path with adjustable gimbal orientation functionality would be an immediate solution and assist in gathering this needed imagery.
I realize upgrading plans is a solution too, but the simplicity of the mapping plan is attractive and the ability to add facade or orbit with gimbal orientation to the face would complete the workflow for our application in mining/construction 3D modeling by capturing the additional imagery of these cut slopes and highwall faces.
Current work flow with mapping plan: upon completion of mission, manually fly back to the face we are wanting to profile, adjusting the gimbal orientation to the face and manually taking photos. Generally 1 pass at a 35°-55° gimbal orientation, capturing the crest and toe of the line of interest captures the face profile we are needing for our models.
