Can't reproduce, can you share a plan that causes it?
I was getting that message frequently (nothing with beta test, normal production) when working on plans over the last 3 weeks. Once it started, I could hit preview multiple times in a row and get the message every time.
Changing anything in the plan -- even a single setting in a single component -- and Preview would start working again.
I was never able to intentionally reproduce it, or determine what caused it. Just leaving the plan and reopening it would get Preview working again, so there was no way to share a plan that would demonstrate the problem.
Yes, changing something also works for me. I should have tried that first. Thanks.

It appears to be an issue with the terrain follow. If you make a slight modification to the plan (thus forcing it to download new elevation data) it fixes it.
yeah that appears to be the case Jim, I tried to fly it and got the message as per screenshot below
I then opened a copy that I'd duplicated the second map component and deleted the duplicate and that previewed and flew ok
