Yes, just try it near your house in airplane mode if you want to see it in action.

Thanks, Jim, I did try and it worked. But just trying to get it correctly so that when I am out in the backcountry, I don't falter. Please correct me if any of the steps are wrong:
-I log into to Dronelink app on my phone with the internet on and connect it to the drone and do the initial setting with follow me feature.
-I then turn my phone on aeroplane mode and switch it off.
-When I need to use the follow me mode, I connect again and use it.

Are these steps ok or do you suggest some others?
I will be without internet for 3 days and would like to use these features during that time.

    Thanks in advance

You are overthinking it. It is true that you need a network connection once to get logged in, but after that the app keeps you logged in, even when you are offline and between sessions. As for airplane mode, the only reason I said to do that was to simulate being offline, you don't have to put your phone in airplane mode when you are already offline. In summary, it will just work.

Would it be possible, now or in the futur, to have the drone follow someone or something other than me with e.g. a second dronelink mobile phone attached to or using a beacon?

How would dynamic home point work practically e.g. with a kayak on a river. Would it land on the boat or on the river banks or directly on the controller as M2P RTH is not alwas very precise?

Technically possible, but probably not going to happen any time soon. Feel free to submit a feature request.

The drone just flies back to wherever the home point is. It is not precise as the underlying sensors are not precise to begin with, and it can be very dangerous in the cases you outline.
