Dronelink Compatibility with Tripltek Tablet?
I'm still new to Dronelink so I'm trying to figure out if this is a device compatibility issue or user error issue. I recently purchased a Tripltek tablet to use with my DJI MA2. The tablet has 8GB of RAM and uses Android 9.0. After failing with my first map grid attempt due to a lack of connection with the drone, I remembered I forgot to download the Native App onto the tablet itself. I've referred to Jim's post from nine months ago "How do I install the native app?". However, I can't find the Native App in the menu as described in the post. Also, when I attempt to download the 64-bit Android APK version directly, the app does not successfully download on the Tripltek tablet. Is this a tablet compatibility issue or am I missing a step?

We have no tested this tablet, but if it does not have Google Play you have to use the APK directly.
Does it not download or not install? If it doesn't install, you may need to try to the 32bit version. Having said all of that, you might want to consider using a higher performance device.
Great news! Dronelink works with the Tripltek tablet! As the original article I referenced had been revised, I went back and uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, and made sure all permissions had been accepted. Given that Tripltek advertises that it works with other apps such as Drone Deploy and UAVenture, I was really hoping it would work with Dronelink and it does.
This is good to hear. I'm looking at using Tripltek tablets instead of iPads. Can you give us a report on how the Tripltek works with Dronelink and if you have any performance issues? TIA!
I've used the Tripletek Pro model for several months with an Air 2. Zero issues, no lag or loss of signal.
Main reason I bought it was trying my IPhone, then IPad then a Galaxy Tab A, could not see the screen in sunlight, even with various shades.
I have no issues seeing in bright sunlight. Battery life is great and I use an inexpensive cell sim so I have connection if I want to go and revise a flight and then fly it again. I use redpocket.com, costs $12/ month for cell and data, works fine. Not a plug for them but in rural areas of WA state, cell coverage can be an issue.
The tablet is heavy, but there are multiple holders and provide a secure mount on your control.
Ditto what John said, except I've only had my Tripltek Pro model for about a month and have just started using it with Dronelink, and I don't use a cell sim. You just need to make sure you download the mission before you head out. I also purchased the LifThor Baldur for DJI Mavic Air 2 as it includes a tripod mount. The tripod helps flying Dronelink missions that much easier (in my opinion).
Thanks for the feedback guys!
John or Roberto - have you guys had any issues working between the Dronelink app and DJI's apps? I've had trouble with Dronelink connecting to the drone once I have opened DJI Fly or DJI Go 4. When I turn on the tripletek and open Dronelink, it works fine. My problem is when I have to calibrate the compass in DJI's app and then switch back to Dronelink. I could work between them without issue on my iphone or ipads. Is this an operating system limitation or something I'm not doing correctly?
You have to terminate DJI Fly / Go and not let it run in the background.
Thanks Jim.
