Flight following terrain without signal with RC

First if all which drone do you have ? Not all drones have onboard waypoints. As far as AGL or Terrain Follow both should work when converting to an onboard waypoints mission. If you’re using the mapping component with a professional plan it has the ability to use Terrain Follow so it will fly the entire mission at the desired altitude. However, if flying a waypoints (path) component it doesn’t use Terrain Follow but AGL which is different. In order to use the AGL feature flying a path you would need to set each waypoint and also add path markers along the path with the desired altitude. The reason for this is because Dronelink uses World ERSI data with elevations to maintain the altitude and it’s only accurate for every 30m or 100’ along the path, not at every point. So if there is a good amount of elevation changes in any area you will need to place more path markers along the path particularly in areas where the elevation changes noticeably. You can run the mission preview and/ or export to Google Earth to check that it maintains the correct altitude. Hope that helps. Enjoy.
