DJI Waypoint component test result

I tried to make systematic tests of “DJI Waypoint” component. First of all, I made a complete list about the parameters, what is possible to program in DJI Waypoint planner. After it I tried to set up those parameters in Dronelink WEB app. and checked it on RC2 controller. Here you can find my comments about those parameters what I could not set up or found problematic.

  1. There is no possibility to program in WEB app “End of Flight”, “On Signal Lost” and “Start Point” General parameters in DJI Waypoint planner. You are putting there “RTH”, “RTH” and “Waypoint 1”
  2. Waypoint parameter in DJI waypoint planner “Heading”: if it is not specified in WEB app waypoint, the value will be 0 (North). In such cases I would suggest set it to ”Follow Curse” because it is the implicit value in DJI waypoint planner.
  3. In case of a POI is connected to the waypoint you calculate the DJI waypoint planner “Heading” and set it to “Manual” and calculated value.
  4. In case of a POI is connected to the waypoint you calculate the DJI waypoint planner “Gimbal Tilt” and set it “Manual” which means by DJI “Applies to flight from previous to current waypoint”. I think it will be problematic if the height of waypoint is different than the previous one. I think it would be better to set up as you are doing in case of “Heading”

As a result, on the RC2 waypoint mission there is no POI defined. It also means that there is no chance to modify the waypoint coordinates or height of POI on the RC2 on the easy way. On the field there is not always possible to use Dronelink WEB app. On the other hand, I think you wanted to design DJI Waypoint component which would make easy to plan a real DJI Waypoint mission. It would be better for this concept if the DJI Waypoint kmz also includ POIs and each waypoint would refer to these POIs instead of the fixed Heading and Gimbal Tilt.

  1. Waypoint parameter in DJI waypoint planner “Zoom”: I could not set up zoom at all!
