Binding and Unbinding
Hi guys and gals,
New to Dronelink and so far super impressed...but yet to put a drone up...but I have a few questions to ask.
I have a Mini 3 Pro that was bought with the DJI RC controller so I have now purchased a new RC-N1 that is yet to arrive and I'll be using a Galaxy A54 (android 14) phone to fly. I need confirmation of the correct process to follow when putting everything together.
I have already downloaded and installed the APK to the phone and that all works fine and connects to my new Dronelink account.
Q1: I need to UNBIND my DJI RC first...and I assume flight logs will not be sync'd with my DJI account so I have integrated Dronelink with AirdataUAV, so I know my logs are safe there but do I also need to upload these logs in my DJI account?
Q2: When the new RC-N1 arrives I need to BIND this to the aircraft and I assume I need to use the DJI Fly app? If so I download and install it on my mobile for the first time, complete the binding process and FORCE STOP after that. Do I uninstall DJI Fly afterwards or should I keep in on the phone?
Q3: My daughter also uses my Mini 3 Pro but she wont need Dronelink and will prefer the DJI RC to the RC-N1 so to switch controllers do I unbind the RC-N1 (using DJY Fly - which answers part of Q2) and then bind DJI RC?

If you’re in the US then DJI does not keep any logs now, they are all stored on your device in the DJI Fly app folder. When using the DL app and uploading flights to Airdata it will not log them in the Fly app folder. The only time your flight logs are recorded in the Fly app is when you’re using the Fly app. You will need to bind which controller you use in the DJI Fly app first since DL does not control this. No need to delete the Fly app and you’re better off keeping it because there are a lot of other functions and features the DL app cannot do or control. Always better to leave it and it’s a relatively small amount of storage space. Hope that helps. Enjoy.
Duly noted and many thanks for the feedback.
I have now unbound the original controller, installed DJI Fly to my mobile and bound the RC-N1 to the Mini 3 Pro and successfully flown a test mission using Dronelink. All went well however I think I need to re-calibrate the compass as the camera positioning I can see in Reality Capture isn't as good as when I fly manually.
I did also get a Chinese warning message, which I screengrabbed but I can't find it for some reason. I have also looked at the flight logs in Airdata (all OK) and in Flight Reader (no flight), so I'll need to investigate Flight Reader issues. That aside all looks good for the future.
Always glad to help. Enjoy.
