Another Vote for DJI FLY formated KMZ file.
Just throwing another "vote" in here. (Since there is no more features voting as there used to be.) I still use the "old" DJI Mini 2 with Dronelink. Now I have Air 3S which I like, and knew up front I could not use with Dronelink. *BUT* I would be eager to upgrade my plan version in the future (if required) to get the ability to create mapping missions for this drone. Yes there are clunky work arounds, however they do not do nearly what Dronelink does, or hopefully could.

We already tracking this feature request here, and just to be clear, even if we do generate a DJI Pilot KML file, it will still require the clunky work-around workflow.
In the Elite package, and professional versons, there is an option to convert a plan to DJI Fly format (Different than DJI Pilot?) which the AIR 3S uses. The list of drones does not exclude the DJI Air 3S, which can use on board waypoints. If a person is willing to run through the steps to place a mission on board, would that format work. Since I do not have Elite now I cannot test it.
I notice the video with the information on this also references a limit of 99 waypoints, which I believe has been removed now? Can the conversion actually do more than 99?
The DJI KML format is the same regardless of the app. Please direct questions to the other thread as that is where we are tracking the feature request.
George. I tried a DJI Waypoints conversion file and it doesn’t work. I’m only guessing that the old DJI Waypoints KML file format is a different format then the newer ones. Try Map Pilot Pro app which I have mentioned in at least one other thread regarding the newer drones. It’s free to export a KML file right into the DJI Waypoints folder with ease on my iPad. I believe android OS devices are very slightly different but still easy to do. Free version gives very basic mapping so if advanced functionality is needed then you would need to subscribe to a monthly subscription. A couple other apps out there but they take much more effort and kinda a pain to get them into the DJI Waypoints format and into the folder.
Mike and Jim, thanks for the responses.
I know Mike mentioned this before, but Jim says "The DJI KML format is the same" so I wonder why it wouldn't work.Maybe the way Dronelink currently exports, which is why it might need work . . . to work, but then no one can use it? "Enterprise" drones only? So they have a different KML structure? Maybe the internal instruction set is different? But I believe you so I will move on. Thanks all.
There is a drone type that has to be specified in the DJI KML format, and if that value is specified incorrectly it won't work. Regardless, Dronelink doesn't export this file format yet as we already discussed in the other thread.
