Adding .kmz export facility to the PREMIUM Plan
Hi there. I used Dronelink Premium for creating and loading Waypoint Missions on my DJI Mini2. I have since sold the Mini2 and bought a DJI Air3s which is not supported by Dronelink. However, if I could export a mission as a .kmz file there is a way to load this .kmz file into DJI Fly and would thus allow me to continue to use the excellent create missions facility of Dronelink. Dronelink Elite plan allows for this export facility but I cannot afford/justify the upgrade (which would only be used for creating waypoints). So is there any chance of adding the .kmz export facility to the Premium Plan and thus preserve my investment in Dronelink?
I look forward to your reply. John

To be clear, the current KML export is not in the DJI Pilot KML format. This feature has been requested here:

We are looking into it, but not to be the bearer of bad news, but I doubt it will be released in the hobbyist plans if we do it.
Here is what works. Do flight mission in Litchi and save as a csv file "around the block litchi_mission 2.csv", Use litchi again to convert csv to "around the block litchi_mission 2.kmz" on the desk top. copy a dummy file (0133913A-C8EF-496E-8E09-6FDA3B57CCFB.kmz) from the rc 2 controller to the desktop. Rename the "around the block litchi_mission 2.kmz" to 496E-8E09-6FDA3B57CCFB.kmz and copy this file back to the r2C controller and chose replace the file 496E-8E09-6FDA3B57CCFB.kmz file, which will actually be the "around the block litchi_mission 2" So was this complicated, slightly, but it did work, yes!. So the question is why dronelink gurus can't give a csv file that we can work onto our mini drone ? until a SDK get published.
If you look in the other thread, you will see that us Dronelink guys are currently looking into adding this feature. The delay isn’t how complicated it is, but rather that it was unclear how many people were willing to put up with the brain damage of the process you just described, which as the months drag on and DJI continues to shun its users with no SDK release, seems to be more and more people, hence why we have started looking into it (recently).
OK Good, the simplest for you is to output a csv (see the file litchi out.csv), then let the customer continue on. Probably not fair to litchi but.. beats buying a compatible drone.
Thanks
Wayne and Jim, good to see there is active discussion on the subject. WaypointMap is no where near as good as Dronelink. The lack of internet base with DJI Fly and having to use the small screen of the RC2 or Phone makes it so much awkward to create missions.
No doubt in my mind, the way ahead (short of DJI making SDKs available), is for Dronelink to make available an export to kmz file. Very simple (in my case) - just plug in the phone to my computer and replace an existing DJI .ksv mission with the Dronelink one.
Would be just great to be part of the Dronelink family again!
Looking like we will have a beta for this feature soon.
DJI will never release SDK for consumer drones other than minis
So if we want to pre plan waypoint missions. Better learn the “file renaming work around”. I cant wait to try the export beta!
Regarding what I refer to as the file two step...
Go to Waypoint maps and download their file converter or file transfer or whatever they call it...
It automates the steps of embedding your new file into the Waypoint file created on the rc2 controller, and all you have to do is choose the file and plug in your transmitter to your computer and hit start... boom done.
Hope this helps
Are you talking Waypoint maps in Litichi? Perhaps a more detailed explanation would help. Does this process lead to flying a Mini 4 pro with an RC 2 controller?
Litchi has a utility which converts a litchi hub waypoints mission into a dji fly app waypoints mission
Yes. It can fly on mini 4 pro with RC2 controller
I am a dronelink lover; would like to be able to do this within the boundaries of dronelink on my mavic 3 pro
