Why is my location not shown when drone is off?

Ulrich Zangerl

When performing a mapping mission I can see the location of my drone, the home location and my own location. However when the drone is turned off my own location is not displayed in the map anymore. This is really annoying when I'm trying to find the exact extent of my flight plan in real world (e.g. when placing GCPs). I always need to turn on my drone and waste battery just to see where my RC and my smartphone are. I'm pretty sure that this was not the case in an earlier version of dronelink and I'm really missing this feature.

I'm using dronelink on the latest Android version.

Check in the Mobile app under general settings for distance reference and set to your device. Maybe that is what you’re looking for. Also make sure you have granted all the permission fir the DL app which include location services. There are about 11 of them on an Android OS device and they all need to be granted.

This appears to be a bug and we will fix it in the next release.

Same issue for me... as I wrote in another post...(https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/38751456723603-Drone-icon-disappears?page=1#community_comment_38770565321619).

Today I noticed that if the drone is near home/device point (about 10 meters) the icon disappears...

I'm using IOS Apple iPhone 15 pro max.

I've checked on an older iPhone witn an older version of Dronelink installed (4.0.6) and it works flawlessly, so it seems an issue linked to latest update.

Hey Jim McAndrew, thank for your response. Do you already know when the next release will be out?
