MA2 Success and Failure

Mike Noftsger

Tested a very simple plan with restricted takeoff point, using my new Ipad mini 2019.

1. Launched with DJIFLY got updated coordinates and home point. 13 sats connected.

2. Landed.  Opened DL, and hit play.  Mission (fly only) ran successfully  RTH, and landed within +- 3'.  SUCCESS!

Next Left drone on, tried exact same mission only using DL  from initial TO point, and no luck. Failed.   Was not able to fly again with DL.

Any suggestions??

Did you try force quitting the app, then trying again to see if it would start?

    Taylor,

Yes tried that. reloaded mission as well.

There seems to be some exact steps to get it to work every time in IOS, which I don't know, yet searched every post I could read.  Hopefully an IOS user could post some specific steps they use for success. Still tinkering and will try again tomorrow.

hmm, definitely interesting behavior. Thanks for sharing this with us, we'll look into it... do you mind sharing the mission plan that this happened on?

I am curious whether the plan that you successfully ran contained any camera commands other than stop/start, i.e. setting mode, type, etc.?

    David,

    Yes ,

    1. Stop capture

    2.Camera mode to video.(video capture)

Set specific markers on path for start/end capture.

Even with slow flight, and curved path, very jerky gimble to POI target on a calm day.  Ran Drone in Cine, so not the drone.

Unfortunately after I could not run the mission again, I deleted it, so waiting for better weather to test again.

    David,

I tried another simple test flight plan with video capture.  The flight was spot on, but did not capture anything on video.   Thoughts?

Need to try it on 137 when it becomes available (waiting for Apple to approve).

Mike, camera commands for the MA2 with the current build are problematic and as Jim mentioned I am waiting on Build 137.
If you want to run you current plan in the meanwhile you can add a "Disengage" component at the end of your video setup.  This will cause the mission to pause at that point and give you a chance to check you camera settings from your device, start video manually, and then continue your mission.
