Mavic Air 2 Niles Simmons January 01, 2021 16:10 59 comments When hvil the software be ready for the Mavic Air 2? Regards Sisu Comments 59 comments Sort by Date Votes Jim McAndrew Dronelink Staff January 01, 2021 21:36 It mainly depends on when DJI fixes their issues, which they do not give us a timeline on. 0 Niles Simmons January 02, 2021 11:27 Is it only the Mavic Air 2 that has that problem? 0 Jim McAndrew Dronelink Staff Edited January 02, 2021 18:25 It affects the whole app. 0 Waynedeeln January 02, 2021 16:48 I was a long time user of Autopilot with a Phantom 3 Pro and at the time I didn't think you guys could improve it any more than it already was. Once the bugs with DJI are worked out on the MA Air 2 this app will rock. It works wonderfuI with my trusty Phantom 3.I still get a rush when I hit the ready to fly button and the Phantom takes off like a bat out of hell and starts the mission. 0 Niles Simmons January 03, 2021 15:08 Thanks for reply.Hope you get it fixed as soon as possible so we can get out and fly missions again ;) 0 Ron January 04, 2021 17:21 I see there is a new release of the Mobile SDK as of January 2. Is that the one that is supposed to correct the problem so that we can get MA2 support working? Thanks! 0 M January 04, 2021 21:00 I'm very excited about this - I hope the new sdk works out 0 CraigW January 04, 2021 23:01 Looks like the V4.14 Trial2 is only for IOS right now. 0 M January 05, 2021 01:36 So that means I need to use my iPad instead of my android phone? I could handle that 0 Niles Simmons January 09, 2021 13:50 Do you have a cautious prediction for when we are ready to fly with our dji Mavic Air 2 with Dronelink? Here where I am, it's cold, so I just want to send my Mavic on missions ;) Regards Niles 0 Jim McAndrew Dronelink Staff January 09, 2021 14:19 You can do it right now in the iOS beta. 0 Ron January 09, 2021 15:13 How does one get the IOS beta? 0 Jim McAndrew Dronelink Staff January 09, 2021 15:59 https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033520874-How-do-I-install-the-beta-native-app- 0 Ron January 09, 2021 16:47 Thanks! 0 Niles Simmons January 10, 2021 12:28 Thanks!I was not aware of that ;) 0 Ninja_Geezer January 13, 2021 17:42 what is the best version of dronelink to purchase for a beginner ,any advice. 0 Jim McAndrew Dronelink Staff January 14, 2021 00:59 It really depends on what features you need. You can compare plans here. Or just click this button: 0 Mike (Arizona Wyldwest) Dronelink Expert Edited January 15, 2021 18:59 Hi Ninja. I’m a newbie and this is my first mission app. It takes some time learning the basic setup but once you watch a bunch of the tutorial videos on YouTube it gets easier. I spent a little bit of time over about three weeks and figured it out. Once you have the basics down it just depends on how much of its abilities you want to utilize. I purchased the Hobbyist $40 Premium plan. The basic doesn’t really cover much so I purchased the premium plan which covers more then I need and the few more features in the Elite plan isn’t needed at this point. You can always upgrade in the future if you like it. Good luck. Hope this helps Ninja.Mike..... 1 M January 15, 2021 20:01 Hows the android version for the MA2 looking? I know there was an addl release not too long ago Thanks! 0 Jim McAndrew Dronelink Staff January 15, 2021 21:32 No progress :( 0 M January 15, 2021 22:26 Thanks Jim. Bummer to hear but I'm sure you guys working hard on it are more bummed. Is there reasonable hope? Or is it a matter of time on this current sdk? Or need another release? 0 Ninja_Geezer January 16, 2021 09:24 Thanks Arizona Wyldwest i think i will try the premium ,like you said can always upgrade if needed later on. i am hoping to use it on my MA2 with ipad mini 5th gen cellular model. 0 Jim McAndrew Dronelink Staff January 16, 2021 12:27 Like I said above, we are waiting on DJI to fix some things, and they have not indicated a timeline. 0 M January 16, 2021 16:28 Thanks Jim. I only have an Ipad Air 2 and in the support link it said that ipad air 2 was not recommended. Unfortunately I don't have the ability to purchase a new ipad but would like to use the waypoints. Do I run great risk in losing/damaging drone by trying with ipad air 2? 0 Jim McAndrew Dronelink Staff January 16, 2021 16:31 Ultimately there is always a risk no matter what hardware you are using. The Air 2 is not recommended because it will most likely result in a bad user experience. 0 Ninja_Geezer January 16, 2021 16:36 im guessing the current ipad mini 5th gen cellular model is good to go jim ? 0 Jim McAndrew Dronelink Staff January 16, 2021 17:54 Yes! 0 M January 16, 2021 19:46 Jim - thanks for the link, it gave me the answers I needed. Godspeed with the Android =) I appreciate the work you guys are doing. I'm happy I can give it a go now 0 Jim McAndrew Dronelink Staff January 20, 2021 16:30 We uploaded the Android beta (APK, not via Google Play yet). Click the 64bit APK link in this article to download it. 0 Brad January 22, 2021 17:12 It works!!! At least for me on my MA2 with a Samsung GS9. I was able to run a simple mission (2 orbits) and it worked flawlessly. I'm going to play with some progressively more complex missions over the next couple of days... I've been waiting for this since my drone arrived last May. Thank You!! -Brad 2 Next › Last » Please sign in to leave a comment.
