Any option to bypass maximum altitude 15m? (in India only)

Diptarka Roy

As per the Indian govt rules, nano drones (mavic mini or mini 2) can't be flown beyond 15m vertical distance. Recently, DJI Fly app has put a soft lock for the same. There's a huge community of Mini users looking for 3rd party app like Dronelink.

Do we have any such restriction in Dronelink app as well for India?

Typically, DJI implements these types of restrictions in the drone's firmware and Dronelink has no control over the behavior.

I was also planning to get the DJI Mini 2 in India and this 15m altitude restriction is a real pain point and restricts people from flying in urban areas or where tall trees/obstructions are there! I was really hoping with Dronelink I can bypass this! :)

I own the Mini 1 also and when this 15m restriction came (when "DJI Fly" app was updated), I simply downgraded the app to the older version and disabled the auto app update on my iPhone and that enabled me to fly above 15m without any issues. (I have disabled the firmware auto-update  feature also on DJI Fly app) So I strongly suspect this is a software lock DJI has introduced in their latest mobile app. (If we take the Mini and attempt to fly outside India (with same phone and drone), the 15m restriction probably will be gone. So they must be doing it with some sort of geofencing maybe? I am pretty sure Apple Store and Google Play store is not having a specific DJI Fly app for India alone!

Install old version of the dji fly app don't update fly safe data. You can still fly more than 15m. Because I have mavic mini. I downgrade the version and flying more than 15m lol childs
