Mapping a 4-mile long water main project
I need to map a new water line project. I only need an area that's one photo frame in width but 4 miles long. Of course, I plan to break it up into smaller missions. Does anyone know of any flight plans for something like this already in the public repository? If not, any suggestions on how to set it up would be appreciated.

The best approach is to probably just plan a series of map components that are very narrow so you just get one pass.
I have done similar recently where I needed to fly along narrow winding rivers whilst recording images at regular intervals and video. The way I achieved this was to use the path command to create 4 routes along the rivers. Route #1 flew out along the left bank and back via the right bank with the camera pointing down to capture nadir images every two seconds. Route #2 flew the same path, but with the gimbal rotated at 90˚ and pointing down at -65˚ to capture oblique images across the river. Route #3 flew along the centre of the river capturing oblique images both our and back. Route #4 flew the same as #3 whilst capturing video. Longer rivers were broken down into multiple flights. The height/speed/capture can be calculated using map command, the parameters copied to path.
