Garbled Audio on Smart Controller

Dave Keasey

I have an odd problem when I use DroneLink with my Mavic Smart Controller.  The audio messages are garbled to the point of being unintelligible.  I don't have this problem when I fly with the DJI Go4 app.

Any clues as to what is going on, and any possible fixes?

Did you install all the related APKs?

I have same problem with my Smart Controller.  All APKs installed.

Yes, I do have the APKs installed... DroneLink, Google Play Services, Google Play Store, and Google Text To Speech.

I have gone ahead and re-installed the Google T2S APK, but can't really test it until I fly next (crappy weather forecast for the next 8-10 days).  I'll post back with any results.

    Some follow-up here...

I got a break in the weather today, rather unexpectedly, and did a quick DroneLink flight (a simple launch, go to orbit, and RTH).

The audio is still garbled, no different than before.  This is not a critical issue for me, as it's a nice feature that doesn't affect my flight plans and execution.  Still, a bit annoying.

Agree with Dave's comments above. annoying but not critical. I'll also try to re-install T2S apk and post results.  I have a M2P with SC.

Just a confirmation... exact same equipment as Douglas.  Brand new in October.

The only other issue I've ever had was a loss-of-signal/disconnect that was likely due to range/obstruction/antenna orientation combination of factors.  In that case, the RTH worked perfectly.

Adding my experience: reinstalled the app and all required APKs twice and still have garbled audio. This is on the DJI Smart Controller.

Sorry to disappoint, but we are not going to be actively looking in to any issues with the smart controller as DJI has effectively abandoned the device and it was already outdated when they released it (in terms of Android version and hardware capabilities).

Well, I wish I’d have known that when I bought it a week ago. Thanks for the response….

how does this affect the DL app for the smart controller? Does this mean it is also being completely abandoned by DL?
