I fount two anomalias in new Orbit "On the Fly" function

Gábor Bokrossy

I decided to make a demonstration video for the Hungarian guys whoos English is not enough to understand the details in English. During the test flight 1':18"" - 2':04"" it was time period when I could not move the drone forward when I wanted to move it over the center of the orbit. I could go up, I could turn, but it did not reagate to the stick to move forward. At 6':30" during the flight the drone stopped for a while. I do not know what could be the reason of it.

The video is without any cuts and stabilization. I was surprised how stable and smooth the movement of the drone was even it was a little bit windy day. The software was keeping nicely the origo on the center of the screen. I think Orbit is very close to deliver to the public!

And here comes the link to the video. Sorry my terrible Hungarian voice under it. https://youtu.be/PVUgh2T-9wY

On the first issue, not sure what that could have been. You had direct stick input and Dronelink was not in control so there must have been something in the firmware preventing motion. Maybe it thought it was approaching a NFZ temporarily or something.

On the second issue, maybe your phone was running slow for a minute and then finally caught back up. Does it happen frequently?

To the first issue: I flew in this area quite often. I had no problem at all over there. Not with the DJI Fly nor with Dronelink. As you could see on the video the native app has not reported anything. Of curse it does not mean that at that period it could not be some unwaited problem.

To the second issue: it happened only that time. It is also possible that it was a stronger wind gust. I do not know.

Of curse I tested the other two modes as well. I had some problems with them, so I think I will do more systematic tests to understand their behavior and the problems I noticed. Unfortunately the weather is bad now. Probably tomorrow.
