How can I select thermal camera for a mission?

Akiles Systems

Hi everybody!

I want to use my DJI M2ED to mapping with my thermal camera. How can I select thermal camera for that mission? I got success in that mission but was with the RGB camera.

Thanks a lot.

There is no way to show the thermal camera in the flight dashboard right now, but you can try issuing commands to it on channel 1 maybe (expand advanced settings)

Thanks Jim for the answer but I really want to use to take photos with the thermal camera, I don´t need watch thermal camera in the flight. What is the way to set thermal camera to take photos? Set Channel 1?

That's what I meant. Try changing the channel to one maybe?

I understand it but when I want to change the channel of the camera in a Map Component I don`t have the option. I tried to put a new Stop and Start Camera (Channel 1) before start Map but Map Component always take Camera Channel 0.

How is the way to change the channel inside Map Component?

Right, forgot about that. The Map component doesn't support selectable channels right now. I will add it to the roadmap as a feature request.

Ok, Nice Jim! Thanks a lot.

I think this is really important to be Dronelink useful with Thermal Cameras.

As a work-around for now you could set the map to Capture Mode "none" and then just start the camera in intervalometer mode before the map. You would have to calculate your own speed to get the overlaps you want.

Yes, I will try that. I was checking before and you can do it but that needs to be more careful about: speed, route, overlaps...

When you can include it in the Map Component it will just be perfect. ;-)

I tried a simple mission to take a photo with thermal camera (ch 1) and that failed. It seems that Dronelink can`t connect with thermal camera anyways.

    You can check here: https://app.dronelink.com/akiles-drone-security-systems/mission/MPKkSA9JiaZW9MeosXZ3

Any other idea to use thermal camera?

    Thanks.

Not sure what else can be done. It sounds like you will have to wait until we add proper support.
