Use DroneLink native app without DJI app installed on same device
Is it safe to use native app without DJI app?
I have 2 device android, a smartphone 32bit with DroneLink native app and a tablet 64bit with both DroneLink and DJI Fly (for Mavic Mini). I cannot install DJI Fly on smartphone because there is not 32bit version.
I'd link use DroneLink native app on smartphone, is this possible in safe? RTH works (return to the take-off point)? Fisical stick works to stop the mission and manually control the drone?
Are there any contraindications?

Actually, I have the opposite problem. I have Google Pixel 4 android with both apps installed. I have to reboot the phone to exit one app or the other to regain control of the Mavic Mini....
The only thing I question in YOUR case is the emergency takeover from a DroneLink mission....Will the RTH work without the DJIfly app also installed?
We are now distributing the app through Google Play, which should automatically choose the correct binary (64 vs 32bit) for your device. You do not have to have a DJI app installed, but you probably should considering that not all the features are available in the Dronelink UI (flight mode switch for the Mavic Mini, for example).
RTH is saved on the drone's firmware, so whatever setting you have from before applies no matter what 3rd party app is in use.
I love DroneLink and it is running great on my Google Pixel 4 smartphone. Small screen, but good enough to call up and initiate a flight plan
I bought a display cradle for a larger tablet I have, but that tablet is running Android 5.5.1
I have searched everywhere, and been to apkmirror.com but can't find either Dronelink app or DJI Fly that runs on this older tablet.
Or....seeking suggestions for a cheap tablet dedicated to running the DroneLink app esp good in sunlight
There is a reason Dronelink doesn't support versions of Android that are that old (the hardware isn't fast enough):
