360 photo with Mini+ICE

I took some 360 photos with the "360 Photo" on the fly function. Every time the drone took 23 pictures and all looked good, but when I stitched those with the Microsoft ICE, it told me that only 18 - 21 pictures were used per one 360 panoramic picture. Is this normal?
In some of those stiched pictures are small black areas and I would think the reason for this is due to the lack of pictures the ICE used for stiching.
Also, are 23 pictures usually enough to have a good result, or should the program be changed so that it takes more pictures to make a better outcome? The best would be that the user defines in the very beginning how many pictures will be taken.

Pano as a component type (which would have options like rows and cols) is on the roadmap. Until then, you can copy and modify either the 360 photo component or the 360 on the fly function to suit your drone / use case / processing software.
