DJI SDK errors and Dronelink

Ken Kroeker

We're all now aware of the persistent "image transmission signal" error showing up in Dronelink which we see in the native app display.

In the past few days I have observed an error which occurs when I move the drone a significant distance from its last flight location. In this case the distance is approximately 50 miles. The error in the Dronelink native app is "magnetic interference fly with caution".

When I launch a mission while this error is displayed, the mission disengages as soon as the mission tries to establish an initial heading (my assumption).

When this occurs, I shut down Dronelink, launch DJI fly and without exception the "compass calibration required" message appears.  Perform the calibration, re-launch Dronelink and the mission completes flawlessly.

So my question for Jim is: Are these errors appearing in Dronelink displayed by the native app in response to an error condition received from an SDK call or does the SDK handle the error display without any intervention by the native app?

If it's the latter there is another bug in the SDK.

The errors at the top of the flight dashboard come from DJI's UX SDK, and we are reporting all these issues to them.

Thanks Jim. I guess until the SDK problems are fixed a good way of operating will be to run DJI Fly and check the messages there before flying with Dronelink. Only takes a minute.

Hi Jim. First time using Dronelink with DJI mini & iPad 5th gen. Did a short mission, which went well, other than the error message as shown in the attached picture. Any thoughts on why this would happen?

Again, we just report the errors that the DJI SDK tells us. In this case it says to contact DJI for support?

    Thanks Jim.

Just thought I’d put it in the forum as you suggested.

Thanks for the quick reply. Looking forward to utilizing the Dronelink app. Looks like it will be a most interesting addition for my use.
