Is it possible to port Dronelink native app to Mac or PC?

vitaly

Hi,
I flew my first test flight last week with Mavic Mini. I did a surface orthomap mission.
My phone is iPhone SE (first gen), which is on your legacy devices list, so I knew there could be potential problems with the performance.

I had to slow down the drone to 16 km/h and then there were no issue at all. The flight went smoothly.
However, my phone's battery drained from 96% to 10% in about 20 minutes. The mission was ~25 minutes, so I did not complete the mission, but it was fine as it was a test flight to see the app capabilities. It would take a long time to recharge a phone back to over 90% and return to complete the mission. The drone could fly twice longer as there were still fully charged batteries left.

I'd like to ask if it is possible to port the native app to MacBook Pro or a Windows 10 laptop and set a USB port to communicate with the drone controller? Would it work on a Chromium OS?

Of cause, it will be cumbersome to have the controller connected to a laptop, but for many flight missions I believe it should not be an issue, considering the advantages it would provide.

Many thanks!

It will probably work later this year on Apple silicon.

I was wondering if you have an update on this topic? Am I able, or going to be able to connect my controller to my M1 MacBook Pro 13" (Apple Silicon) and fly my drone missions through the Dronelink App on my macbook by downloading the iOS version of the app or with a native MacBook app? In other words, am I able to fly the Dronelink app through my Apple Silicon MacBook Pro, and if not, is it possible to make this happen? Thanks!

Dronelink runs on the M1 just fine. The problem is that you have to connect the RC to the device somehow, and this only works over lightning / MFI, which the M1 Macs don't support (yet, hopefully).
