Map search using latitude and longitude

Bob Jones

Was given am google earth map point... got the latitude and longitude in decimal format...

something like

31.362017, -85.915866

I get "There was an error reaching the server"

Can search on addresses with no problem...

What am I doing wrong?

The mapbox reverse geo-coder doesn't support lat/lng right now, but we can add it as a feature request.

    That would be great!

    Jim,
Any progress on this feature? We would appreciate this function, as mapping in remote mining locations are often difficult to locate on the current mapping platform & a lat, long search would be very useful.
    Thanks!

For now you can just create a kml with the exact coordinate and import it.

As you suggested, Google Earth .kml import worked well for the lat/long search workaround.

    Thank you.
