Today I made several tests for doing several series of photos. Each series was generated by independent plan. I wanted to separate on my SD card those series by File names. The only possibility what I found was "Camera File Index Mode" command. The only possibilities to choose there as "File Index Mode" is "Sequense" or "Reset" which didn't solve my problem. It would be nice to extend this command to have the next parameters:
1. Prefix (1 - 8 alphanumeric field)
2. Index: (0 - 9900)
Having those parameters we could separate different missions result by results file names.
It would help also if we could set the index and not only "Reset" to 0!
There is no chance to identify the files by Dronelink?
If I'm opening a picture there are "extended information" about the file.
Maybe its possible to fill some of them by Dronelink?
For example the "Serialnr. Camera" is empty and a textfield which I can edit in Windows...maybe the DJI SDK gives the possibility to write some of these parameters?

No, this behavior is baked in to the DJI firmware.

I know I am dreaming, but still....

We have been asking DJI for this functionality for years. Don't hold your breath.

Sorry Jim, it looks like I am still not enough familiar with your posts!

1 Year later - still no solution, Jim?

Not trying to be pessimistic, but we first asked DJI for this functionality in 2016, so technically its been 6 years.
Ok, I understand.
But what about writing in the picture information - did you already checked to get access to?
The only thing they allow us to write is the XMP tag in the EXIF data, and even that is only for certain drones:
https://developer.dji.com/api-reference/ios-api/Components/Camera/DJICamera.html?search=setmediafilecustominformation&i=0&#djicamera_camerasettings_setmediafilecustominformation_inline
We already put dronelink:[kernel version] in this field.
