Home point and takeoff point

Rob Baker

I am very comfortable with Dronelink features now but I have a couple of simple questions,

1. Is the home point and take off point the same position In a plan?

2. Can you reposition the Home point before take off, to be different from the take off point?

3. Does it make any difference at all where you position the reference point icon, what I am asking is if that one position has any influence at all on the Home point or take off point?

The takeoff point is just a suggestion. You can however add a required takeoff area in the plan settings, and it will show up as an orange marker on the map. The only functional relevance is if you use AGL, as all the altitudes will be calculated assuming that you actually took off at the point you specified. There is no way to set the home point in Dronelink right now.

Currently I enter the DJI app... set the home point then enter the dronelink app. I have to unplug the phone from the controller but then it starts the phone into the drone link... not even sure if that is effective. also being able to adjust the return to home altitude in dronelink app would be helpful. based on where we are at and possible loss of connection.

Setting the home point in DJI is effective as it is saved on the Drone (for that battery session).

You can use a command to change the RTH altitude in your mission plan.

Is there a way to enter Tripod Mode?

DJI GO / Fly, but you can't be in that mode and also use Dronelink.

Regarding Home Point. Is there a way to enter a command that will update the home point of the drone to its current position during a flight. I have done some flight paths that are very long, and the drone hits a wall because it is too far from its take off position, this is despite me following it and having a visual on it.

Is there a way to enter a command where the drone would update its home position, so that it doesnt abandon the mission halfway througha video run.

    Thanks Rhys

In the DJI app (I only use Go 4 but I assume it is in fly) there is a setting called "Enable Max Distance" - make sure that is turned off.

You can also put a Drone Home Location command in your mission plan and change the home point whenever you want.

    How to do that?

Please help the detail instructions (if possible with the screen shot)

    I have same issue,
after planning the mission in computer,
When I go to the field, the home point is changed (around 2 km) from the point where I set in computer.

How to change it on RC pro?

    Thank you
