problems with 2 missions today...

Adam G

First mission was basically a settings reset, fly map grid.  Drone took off and ascended to 127agl and stopped (it was supposed to go to 200agl).  DL wouldn’t let me do anything, so I took over control.

2nd mission settings reset, fly map grid.  Drone flew map grid for about 10 minutes, then mysteriously just hovered in flight while continuing to take timed photos.  DL wouldn’t start or pause or anything.  Just prior (while on auto flight) I had entered the menu screen, so maybe that was a factor.  Will try not touching it next time.

    • Are you reaching the edge of the max distance setting?
    • Are you near a NFZ?
    • Are you at the edge of signal range?

    Jim,

I did pre-flight check the first 2 items.  No issues.  I'd be shocked if it was the 3rd, since the area is wide open, and the drone was fairly close (maybe 600 feet).  I will have to try the same mission again to see what happens.

Well, I’ve tried about 6 different missions and all had problems of some sort.  Sometimes the drone will takeoff and rise to the specified elevation, but then just hover indefinitely.  Then when I run the same mission it gets past that part of the mission, but randomly just stops or pauses indefinitely.  Attempts to restart the mission from that point fail.  Today I made it 14 minutes into a mapping mission before it paused indefinitely.  Very frustrating.  Not sure what to do or what parameters to change.  Any ideas?

If you are using a Mavic Mini, it is possible there is too much interference for automated control (see bottom of this article). The only way to test that would be to try missions in a non-congested environment. The other idea is it is mobile device related, and you could try it on a different device.
